Kaplan Multimedia, Inc. is a full service production company. We offer everything from original concept creation, script writing, on-camera talent and multiple camera shoots, to state-of-the-art post-production editing.

Joel Kaplan has been involved with regional, national and international television productions since 1978. His experience runs the gamut from PBS documentaries to music videos, multi-camera field productions, corporate communications, children’s programming and entertainment specials.

Mr. Kaplan¹s professional experience began at WPBT Public Television in Miami, Florida where he was involved with regional, national and international programming from 1978 to 1995. His job requirements there included shooting and directing Electronic Field Productions, A/B roll BetaSP editing and AVID non-linear editing.

Mr. Kaplan has been honored with seven Emmy awards, thirteen Telly awards, Corporation for Public Broadcasting Silver Award, Media Award for Video Excellence in Economic Understanding and two Communicator Crystal Awards.

Animation

Kaplan Multimedia has full graphics and animation capabilities to bring your video projects to life.  From a simple title animation to full blown project design, including 3-D animation, we can take your project to the next level.


Directing

Joel Kaplan has directed hundreds of television programs. From the Emmy award-winning children’s program, Gators, Crocs & other Yucky Swamp Creatures to several dozen PBS television documentaries.
Mr. Kaplan also regularly shoots and directs programs for the Discovery Channel's “Your New House” and HGTVs, “Dream Builders”. Mr. Kaplan’s directing skills consistently exhibit: Award-winning experience you can see!



Editing

Kaplan Multimedia currently owns and/or operates Matrox AXIO, Final Cut Pro, AVID and Media 100 High Definition non-linear editing systems. We can provide you with virtually any editing effect or style you desire. From multi-layered images, to floating text, from dreamy slow motion, to old scratchy film, from multiple picture-in-picture images to eye popping 3D effects. We can empower you to reach your creative goals by producing a highly stylized production.



Shooting

Kaplan Multimedia, Inc. regularly shoots for HGTV and the Discovery Channel. Besides standard shooting packages we also offer specialty camera work such as underwater, aerial and Steadicam photography. Kaplan Multimedia currently owns and/or operates Steadicam camera support systems, HDTV, DigiBeta, BetaSP, DVPRO, DVCAM, Mini-DV, S-VHS and Hi-8 cameras and editing equipment. We are ready to handle any shooting assignment, whether in the sky or underwater and everything in between.
